International Students and Programs Office Strategic Plan (2018 - 2023)
In Fall 2018, the International Students and Programs Office announced our five-year Strategic Plan. The plan guides the work of our office and ensures we focus on the most critical areas for new students, current students, alumni, and staff. The plan's key pillars focus on working toward greater inclusion and success for the international student community.
Goal 1: ADVISING SERVICES
Increase advising capacity to serve the continued growth in the international student population.

Goal 2: Student EXPERIENCE AND ENGAGEMENT
Design and implement hybrid (virtual and in-person) student experience and engagement opportunities for international undergraduate, graduate, and non-degree students to support satisfaction, retention, and time-to-degree.

Goal 4: COMPLIANCE
Ensure that UC San Diego complies with federal agencies' (U.S. Departments of State, Homeland Security, and Labor) regulatory reporting requirements for the F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors, thereby maintaining our students’ and their dependents’ legal status in the U.S.
Goal 5: INFRASTRUCTURE AND ORGANIZATION
Enhancing the organizational infrastructure and financial stewardship to successfully meet the challenges of the future.

Goal 6: COMMUNICATIONS
Enhance institutional presence and communicate positive impact of international community and ISPO’s services and programs.
